The definition of mind over matter includes; ‘The use of willpower to overcome physical problems’. Our minds are very powerful. If the battle is won in our minds we are most of the way there.

There is a well-known quote “If you think you can, or you think you can’t, you are right”. Now of course some things are completely out of our control, but we have more influence on our outcomes than we think. A positive outlook really does make a significant difference. Training our minds to think positively takes time and effort but it is well worth it when it becomes second nature and negativity is kept at bay.

Surround yourself with positive people, follow positive people on social media, find an opportunity to be positive, something as small as a compliment can make someone’s day. Look for positivity and the light will outshine the darkness.

As we close off our month of discussing mental health, my challenge to you is this; Think about what you are thinking about. If we focus on positive things, positivity will be the lense that we see situations and circumstances through. It becomes the soundtrack of our heart. The converse is, of course, also true. It is said that 90% of what we worry about will never happen. Let’s radiate positivity in these uncertain times and who knows whose life we may impact!

Worrying does not take away tomorrows troubles, it takes away today’s peace.
